COVID-19 Update.Our lobbies have reopened

LA SALLE STATE BANK LOBBIES ARE OPEN.  As of June 22, all La Salle State Bank and Community Bank of Utica lobbies have reopened and have resumed normal business hours and operations.  We are excited to see you again, so come on in!

In an effort to help combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our community and to better protect our customers and employees, we have implemented some new guidelines for doing business in our branches.  We are asking all customers entering the bank to please wear a mask or other protective face covering at all times while in the building, and we ask you to keep a proper distance (six feet) from all bank staff and other customers.  We will be limiting the number of customers we can have in the lobbies at any one time, and we welcome you to keep the pen you use for your banking transaction.

For those customers who do not feel comfortable visiting one of our lobbies, we encourage you to do your banking remotely by using our mobile banking app, internet banking, our ATM machines, our drive-up windows, and our bank-by-phone system.  Nearly all of your regular banking transactions can be completed using one of these remote banking methods.

The La Salle State Bank thanks you for your cooperation and understanding while our lobbies were closed.  We know this is a trying time, and we appreciate your patience in dealing with the inconveniences of banking with us during this pandemic. We hope we can get back to a more customary way of doing business soon.  In the meantime, we are committed to helping you bank as safely and conveniently as possible.

Re:  COVID-19 Coronavirus Response

Dear Valued Customer,

At the La Salle State Bank, we take the health and safety of our customers, our employees, and our community very seriously.  As the coronavirus, COVID-19, continues to spread throughout the country, I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the actions we continue to take at the Bank to help limit the spread of this disease while minimizing the interruption to the valuable services we provide to you.

WHAT WE KNOW NOW  The management team at the Bank continues to closely monitoring all communication from the federal government’s Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regarding this topic, and we will respond swiftly to their recommendations.  As the local economy has been allowed to reopen, we have reopened our Bank lobbies while implementing the restrictions recommended by government authorities and health officials.  We welcome you to return, and we look forward to seeing you.  Bank lobbies will remain open and continue to provide all normal services during our regular business hours so long as it is deemed safe to do so.

BEST WAYS TO BANK SAFELY  Bank lobbies are once again open, and our hours have not changed.  We continue to provide our customers with all of our regular services.  I do ask that your trips to the Bank be judicious during this time of heightened sensitivity. Visits to any of our three branches should be limited to essential banking business only. Please be aware that most banking transactions can easily and conveniently be conducted remotely using the La Salle State Bank’s mobile app, internet banking, any one of our three ATM machines, or via the Bank’s telephone banking service (State Phone; 815-223-8801). These services are all available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Transactions can also be conducted through the Bank’s Customer Service Department by calling 815-223-8800 during normal business hours or via any one of our three drive-ups in LaSalle, Peru, and Utica during normal business hours. WHAT WE ARE DOING TO PROTECT YOU  If a visit into one of our facilities is necessary, please know we have taken the following measures to ensure your health and wellness and that of our employees:

•  Signs detailing the guidelines we’d like you to follow have been posted in each of our three lobbies.  Please give them a look when you come in.

•  Employees have been instructed to stay home and customers are asked to avoid coming into the Bank if they are ill, if they are showing any of the symptoms common to the COVID-19 virus, or if they have come into contact with anyone thought to be infected.

•  We ask all customers entering a bank building to wear a mask or other protective face covering.  Employees have been instructed to wear masks when serving you if they are not able to keep a proper distance.

•  We have installed shielding throughout the bank for your added protection, and we ask that you keep a proper distance (six feet) from other customers and employees while visiting us.

•  Employees are well-versed in the necessary personal hygiene steps that should be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including an increase in the frequency of hand washing / sanitizing and keeping work stations disinfected.  Customers are asked to follow similar protocol.  Hand sanitizer is available throughout our branch facilities.

•  The Bank has enhanced the depth and frequency of cleaning in all of our branches with particular attention paid to high traffic areas, public gathering places, restrooms, and areas of frequent exchange between customers and employees.

Online Banking.A new look & more to like

LaSalle State Bank’s internet banking platform got a fresh new look in 2019.  Our internet banking product migrated to a new digital banking interface which allows our customers to experience a more modern look and feel across the bank’s entire digital banking system regardless of the device used for access.  The look and functionality of our mobile app has gotten such positive reviews that we decided to more closely mirror our browser version of internet banking to our mobile app.  We think this will provide you with a more consistent digital banking experience across both platforms.  And we’ve added some additional functionality to internet banking that we think you’ll love.

What does this mean for you?  If you’ve used the LaSalle State Bank Mobile App, the new look will be very familiar.  If you haven’t, we think you will find the redesigned product more visually appealing and the functionality of the product easier to navigate.  You’ll still access internet banking the same way, and your Logon ID and Password will remain the same.  For a more detailed look at what you should expect from the new interface, check out this dummy platform (https://elsb.myebanking.net/#/demo) where you can test drive the new product using a fake user and accounts.  You might also find this video overview (https://youtu.be/KydOPQ5P8m0) and this demonstration on money movement, transfers, and bill pay (https://youtu.be/Q3eKy9YVVI4) helpful.

If you are using accounting software or budgeting apps (Quick Books, Mint, etc), this change could impact your automatic logon functionality.  If you experience issues logging after August 8th, please do not hesitate to contact one of our Customer Service Representatives at 815-223-8800.

Person-to-Person (P2P) functionality for money transfers will also be available via internet banking.  Previously, this functionality was only available using the LSB mobile app.  Now, you can make these transfers via internet banking as well.  This is an incredibly convenient and secure way to send money to others.  Give it a try.  We think you’ll love it!

It’s always great to see you at the bank, but we know our customers sometimes find it more convenient to do their banking from home, or anywhere else for that matter.  Our state-of-the-art mobile banking app allows you to take the bank with you wherever you go.  With this app, you can enjoy the convenience of Mobile Check Deposit, as well as easily transfer funds, make loan payments, and check your balances in real time.  The app is easy and free to download and even easier to use.  We think you’ll love having the ability to do your banking on the fly from anywhere and at any time.  It’s like having all the power of LSB in your back pocket.

Kasasa.Interest, Refunds, and Rewards

The La Salle State Bank is pleased to be able to offer our customers the family of checking and savings accounts known as KASASA®.  The accounts are all FREE and give you the choice between a checking account that pays a high rate of interest on deposits, a checking account that offers cash back on every day purchases, and a checking account that offer rewards on purchases from iTunes®, Amazon.com®, and Google Play™.  ATM withdrawal fee refunds (nationwide!) are also offered on each of the KASASA checking accounts.  Opening a KASASA checking account allows you to open a KASASA savings account which pays a healthy interest rate on deposits to that account as well.

Of course, as with seemingly all things in banking, you do have to meet some qualifications in order to receive the benefits of a KASASA account, but even if you don’t, the account will remain free and you can try to qualify again in the next Monthly Qualification Cycle.  And qualifying is pretty easy.  You’re probably already doing these basic banking activities each month anyway:

  • Have at least 12 debit card purchases post and settle
  • Be enrolled in and agree to receive e-Statements
  • Be enrolled in and log into online banking at least once
